Lafayette, IN - Texas audiologist Vanessa G. Paranagua is the Audiology Foundation of America's (AFA) latest Au.D. scholarship winner. Paranagua won an AFA scholarship for $1,000, sponsored by ESCO, to pursue her Au.D. degree via distance education.
Paranagua is a senior clinical audiologist with ENT Associates of Texas in Frisco, TX, where she tests patients, fits hearing aids, and evaluates patients with dizziness and balance disorders. She completed her bachelor's degree at the University of Texas at Austin, her master's degree at Lamar University, and will pursue her Au.D. via A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Health Sciences distance education program.
"I decided to pursue my Au.D. because I believe that there are new things I can learn to make me a better and more successful audiologist," said Paranagua. "
The AFA is an educational foundation whose mission is to empower audiologists to be independent and autonomous practitioners by supporting their educational preparation, professional practice and leadership development.
