Lexington, KY - The Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) is pleased to announce that it has engaged Prime Policy Group, one of Washington’s premier government relations firms, to assist in the achievement of audiology’s 18x18 Initiative to amend Title XVIII (18) by 2018 to:
- Allow audiologists the autonomy to make clinical recommendations and practice the full scope of audiology and vestibular care as allowed by their state license and as dictated by their educational requirements and competencies.
- Eliminate the need for the physician order required for a Medicare beneficiary to receive coverage of medically necessary, covered audiology and vestibular services
- Allow for Medicare coverage of medically necessary, covered treatment services such as vestibular rehabilitation, cerumen removal, and aural rehabilitation provided by an audiologist practicing within their state defined scope of practice.

“The ADA Board of Directors vetted several firms before selecting Prime Policy Group,” said ADA President Nancy Green, Au.D. “We are so pleased to have found a firm that not only has the right experience and expertise, but also the roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic and passion that will ensure the successful achievement of 18x18 objectives.”
Rich Meade, Chair of Prime Policy Group’s Health Care Practice will serve as ADA’s lead strategist and lobbyist. Prior to joining Prime Policy Group seven years ago, Meade served for 14 years in the House as staff director for the House Budget Committee and Chief of Staff to Congressman Jim Nussle (R-IA). “Prime Policy Group is pleased to have this opportunity to work with the ADA to help achieve the 18x18 Initiative,” said Rich Meade. “Our firm’s health care team which includes veteran lobbyists Cary Gibson and Vickie Walling are excited to begin work for this dynamic organization.” Full biographies for Rich Meade, Cary Gibson, and Vickie Walling can be found here https://www.prime-policy.com/talent/senior-professionals on Prime Policy Group’s website.
