The ADA's Board of Directors decided to explore options for managing the association in an effort to build upon the association's growth; strengthen the overall membership and education value; intensify its legislative and regulatory involvement; and bolster its support of the new Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education. Following a search that looked at several options, the ADA Board made the decision to partner with SmithBucklin. "Our goal is to build on the association's solid foundation and support its strategic growth and goals," said Craig Johnson, Au.D., President of the ADA.
With the relocation of ADA's headquarters, Kevin Hacke assumes the responsibilities of ADA executive director. "Kevin is an experienced association executive, and we are happy to have his experience and input on the team as we make the most of ADA's strategic opportunities," Johnson said.
The Academy of Dispensing Audiologists was founded in 1976 as a non-profit professional association to foster and support the professional dispensing of hearing aids by qualified audiologists in rehabilitative practices. The ADA provides resources to practitioners in audiology who have responsibility for patient care. All new fellow members of ADA either possess an Au.D. (Doctor of Audiology) degree or are enrolled in a distance Au.D. program.
