Washington, D.C.: The American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACI Alliance) has opened registration for a Hearing Aid Specialist Virtual Workshop on May 1, 2021.
This 2-hour virtual workshop is designed for hearing aid specialists seeking to learn more about cochlear implants and when to refer patients for an evaluation, and includes access to the CI2021 virtual exhibit area. It features four segments by internationally recognized cochlear implant clinicians, an adult consumer, and a hearing aid specialist who regularly works with a CI practice in his community.
The workshop will be jointly opened by Meredith Holcomb AuD, the Chair of the ACI Alliance Board of Directors and Todd Beyer, ACA, BC-HIS, Immediate Past President of the International Hearing Society. Presenters will share and engage on up-to-date clinical practices that attendees may immediately apply to improve services provided to patients. Attendees will be able to pose questions via text messaging on the conference platform.
- How to identify CI candidates in your practice
- Developing a plan for establishing a referral relationship with a CI center
- Describing the benefits of cochlear implants
The workshop is free to those registered for CI2021 and $15 for those who wish to take the workshop as a stand-alone event.
ACI Alliance is a not-for-profit membership organization created with the purpose of eliminating barriers to cochlear implantation by sponsoring research, driving heightened awareness and advocating for improved access to cochlear implants for patients of all ages across the US.
