WASHINGTON (May 24) -- American Cochlear Implant Alliance releases video of five stars and audiologist/filmmaker Jane Madell interacting with audience members at the world premiere of The Listening Project documentary. The new documentary profiles fourteen young adults who were born deaf but can now hear, thanks to cutting-edge technologies, including cochlear implants.
The young adults—all deaf since childhood— discuss their experiences navigating their way through school, friendships and slumber parties. They share stories about family support and judgment by others, career challenges and successes, and the importance of accepting their deafness on their own terms.
The video of the panel discussion and information about The Listening Project can be found here.
