(Reston, VA–December 9, 2015)—The Board of Directors of the American Academy of Audiology (the "Academy") has selected Dave Fabry, PhD, as their new editor-in-chief, effective January 1, 2016. Fabry holds a PhD, MA, and BA from the University of Minnesota. He is the vice president of professional relations at Starkey Hearing Technologies, has co-authored numerous articles and book chapters, and presented at national and international audiology meetings.
The Academy’s Board of Directors listens to its members. We have heard a desire to integrate Audiology Today with our Web content and to increase opportunities for members to contribute to the Academy’s various publications. In response, the Board has merged the roles of web editor and Audiology Today editor into one comprehensive new position. The Board was fortunate to interview several excellent candidates with a variety of experience. Fabry’s specific experience serving as editor of Audiology Today since 2008, familiarity with technology as demonstrated through serving as associate editor at AudiologyOnline in 2007, and innovative ideas conveyed through his various print and online publications made him the best candidate as we transition to this new position. The editor-in-chief will report to and be held accountable by the Board.

The editor-in-chief will be accountable for the development of audiology-related content and have oversight and collaboration with four associate editors and a variety of volunteer contributors. This person will reach out to garner quality submissions that are of interest to the Academy’s membership.
