A New and Improved Astera

Share:

Schaumburg, IL, July, 2009 - GN Otometrics, the world leader in hearing and balance diagnostic systems based in Copenhagen, Denmark, has released new and improved OTOsuite software for the MADSEN Astera audiometer.

The OTOsuite software upgrade offers substantial new features and improved functionality to the Astera, providing audiologists with the latest in smart innovation. The already powerful Astera has been enhanced with new report templates, including severity and speech banana overlays for counseling purposes, MLD and a historical audiogram comparison tool that makes it possible to compare thresholds over time. Furthermore the speech module now offers phoneme scoring and greater word list flexibility, allowing the user to choose the number of words scored before stopping the test. Unlike most traditional clinical audiometers in use today, Astera users will enjoy the benefits of software upgrades over the life of their equipment. Current Astera customers can download this version 3.20 software upgrade free of charge.

The MADSEN Astera audiometer made a significant impact on the way audiologists work when it was released in December 2008. Astera combines the best of traditional stand-alone audiometers and newer PC-based systems, thereby creating a new standard in clinical audiometry. The comprehensive test battery, high frequency testing and a built-in power amplifier delivers a powerful audiometer with many innovative clinical features to save time as well as money. The Audiometer Control Panel features a familiar and intuitive layout allowing the user to focus on the patient without looking at the instrument. Furthermore, unique features such as multiple speaker routing, Channel Specific Threshold Storing, FRESH noise and talk-to-assistant functionality support the pediatric testing process.
