2014 Hear the World calendarBoth a work of art and an appeal for support: a unique photo collection for a good cause.

Kate Moss, Lana Del Rey and Tobey Maguire are just three of the many celebrities to be pictured in expressive photographs for the 2014 Hear the World calendar. They have all been captured on camera by photographer Bryan Adams, posing with one hand behind the ear - the Hear the World pose synonymous with conscious hearing. The striking images help us to raise awareness of the importance of good hearing and the consequences of hearing loss. All proceeds from the sale of the calendar will go to the Hear the World Foundation, which runs a global campaign to help people in need as a result of a hearing loss. The calendar will be available to buy in a limited edition from November 12, 2013 from www.hear-the-world.com at a price of USD 40.

The non-profit Hear the World Foundation wants to create a world in which everyone has the chance to experience good hearing. As well as running a long-term campaign to raise awareness, the foundation primarily focuses on providing aid. In particular, it promotes projects that support children with hearing loss, to enable them to develop at an appropriate rate for their age. Since 2006, Hear the World has supported more than 50 projects across five continents and has already given countless people the chance to enjoy a better life.

Anyone can make a contribution to the foundation’s work by buying the 2014 Hear the World calendar. The calendar would be a perfect Christmas present for anyone wanting to give something special and help a good cause at the same time. The striking collection of black and white photographs is not only a work of art but also serves to support people with hearing loss throughout the world. Actor Tobey Maguire, up-and-coming star and singer Lana del Rey and supermodel Kate Moss are just three of the highlights in this year’s calendar. A total of 13 stars - including Sergei Polunin, Ben Kingsley, Anne V and Charlotte Gainsbourg – are featured on the cover and on the pages for each month of the year.

2014 Hear the World calendarSpecial commitment to helping children with hearing loss

One key element of the Hear the World Foundation’s work is the provision of audiological care to children with hearing loss. This involves supplying hearing aids and organizing sustainable support in cooperation with local partners such as Ear-Nose-Throat doctors, hearing care professionals and speech therapists. This ensures that children with hearing loss receive professional care on an ongoing basis and are given the chance to enjoy a better quality of life.
