Topic: SeboTek Technology Line-up For 2005
Beck: Good Morning Glenda. Thanks for joining me today.
Rast: Hi Doug. Nice to speak with you, too.
Beck: Glenda, before we address new SeboTek technologies, I was hoping you might tell us a little about your professional history and education....In fact, I understand you have a rather extensive military background?
Rast: Yes, that's right. I retired from the United States Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Beck: Wow... that's very impressive. How long were you in the military?
Rast: 20 years. I was a mission crew commander on the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft. After I retired, I went into audiology, which had been my dream from my undergraduate, pre-Air Force days. So, I'm living my dream.
Beck: That's great. Where did you get your Master's degree?
Rast: I earned my Master's degree through The University of Texas at Austin. After graduation, I worked in an ENT practice and joined SeboTek last year. I am currently studying for my Au.D. through PCO and hope to finish in the next few years!
Beck: Thanks Glenda. That's a fabulous and very exciting bio sketch. If you would, please tell me a little about the "line-up" of SeboTek products.
Rast: Doug, as you know, the SeboTek Post Auricular Canal, or PAC, is a completely different style of hearing instrument that allows us to take advantage of the benefits of a deep fitting instrument; elimination of the occlusion effect, reduction of feedback, increased acoustic gain and increased fidelity. The PAC is more discrete than a CIC, but offers the flexibility and power of a BTE. I'm sure some of your readers have occasionally had to compromise the cosmetically discrete hearing instrument their patients want for the amplification system they need. Well, with the PAC, there's no need to compromise.
Beck: The PAC's physical attributes have really allowed this technology to take off. OK then, so knowing that SeboTek offers a few different PAC instruments, would you please run through them for me?
Rast: Absolutely. We are really excited to offer professionals a choice of four high fidelity digital hearing instruments, the Voice-QTM 410, 510, 620 and 720.
The Voice-QTM 410 is one of our new hearing instruments. The Model 410 is the choice for value-minded patients with a mild-to-moderate hearing loss. The Model 410 is a single memory, omni-directional hearing instrument that's easy to operate, yet provides true high fidelity acoustics without compromising quality.
Beck: And you still offer the Voice-QTM 510, correct?
Rast: Definitely, Doug. The Model 510 is the choice for patients with a mild-to-severe hearing loss of any configuration. The Model 510 is more flexible than the Model 410 and provides two personalized listening programs and a programmable Telecoil.
Beck: What's next in the line-up?
Rast: Just recently, we introduced the Voice-QTM 620. The Model 620 is for patients with a mild-to-moderate hearing loss who want or need the benefits of a directional microphone system. It's flexible, easy to operate and has two user-selectable memories. The Model 620 is a WDRC hearing instrument, just like our other products.
Beck: And the Model 720 is the premium product?
Rast: Correct. Our top-of-the-line product is the Voice-QTM 720 which features four user-selectable memories. The Model 720 fits patients with mild-to-severe hearing loss of any audiometric configuration and has matched dual directional microphones and a programmable Telecoil.
Beck: Glenda, thanks for the overview on these products. Anything else new from SeboTek?
Rast: As a matter of fact, there is, Doug. I'm glad you asked. We recently introduced new Ultra-Soft Tips. The tips are designed to provide the next level of comfort to patients, allowing professionals to fit even the most difficult canals that may have presented a challenge in the past. We're really excited about that.
Beck: Thanks Glenda. Your explanations of the SeboTek product line have really made it easy to know which is which.
Rast: Thank you too, Doug. It's been a lot of fun for me.
