Important Information About CE Reporting
Timelines for Reporting to the AAA and ASHA registries
AudiologyOnline will report to the AAA and/or ASHA registries for members who request that we do so. By selecting Yes for ASHA reporting on the pre-exam page, you consent to having your information sent to ASHA CE. Only courses offered for AAA credits can be reported to the AAA Registry; only courses offered for ASHA credits can be reported to the ASHA Registry.
Courses are reported to the AAA CE Registry on a monthly basis around the tenth day of each month (for the previous month’s course completions). For the ASHA Registry, AudiologyOnline will transmit your course completion information for on-demand courses to ASHA immediately after you pass the exam and complete the course evaluation. Course completion information for live webinars will be sent to ASHA 11 days after the webinar date.
You can change your reporting preference for a limited time after you have completed a course. For AAA reporting, you can change your selection until the monthly report has been submitted to AAA. For ASHA reporting, you can change your opt-in selection from “no” to “yes” for up to 10 days after you attend a live webinar or up to 10 days after you complete an on-demand (recorded webinar, audio, or video) course. To see the reporting status of a specific course, go to your AudiologyOnline Transcripts page.
Allow ASHA and/or AAA two weeks after the reporting date on your AudiologyOnline transcript page to update your ASHA and/or AAA CE transcript(s).
For more details about ASHA reporting eligibility, reporting timelines, transcript status messages, and more, please visit CEU/Credit Hour Processing FAQs. You can also contact us with questions.
Reporting Requirements
To ensure that your CEU credits are reported properly to the ASHA and AAA CE registries, you must verify that your AudiologyOnline (AO) user profile is up-to-date, including your AAA and/or ASHA member ID number, and indicate your reporting preferences as requested prior to completing a CE test. The name you entered in your profile should match what is in the AAA and/or ASHA registry. If your profile is not up-to-date, this would result either in failure of AudiologyOnline to report your credits, or reporting of inaccurate information to the AAA and/or ASHA CE Registries.
Remember that this reporting feature applies only if you are a member of the AAA and/or ASHA CE registries and would like either of them to maintain a record of your CEUs. If you maintain your own course records or report them manually, you may print your AudiologyOnline certificates of completion or your AudiologyOnline transcript as proof of coursework.
How do I earn ABA Tier 1 credits?
All participants who complete a course offered for ABA Tier 1 credits and who select “yes” for reporting to the AAA CE Registry will automatically be credited with Tier 1 CEUs by the American Academy of Audiology on their AAA CE Transcript. Non-Academy members who want Tier 1 credits may provide AudiologyOnline certificates of completion or AudiologyOnline transcripts to ABA.
