AutoFit obtains information from the real-ear output and adjusts frequency-specific gain of the instruments automatically until a close match to target is obtained. This procedure, and its accuracy and efficiency, will be discussed. Traditional, as well as proprietary prescriptive targets (previously not available on probe-mic equipment), can be verified within the AutoFit workflow. The procedure is also compatible with simultaneous bilateral fittings—another factor which can expedite the fitting process.

Remote adjustments of hearing aids are becoming more frequent. To gauge patient engagement, several studies were conducted to evaluate improvement on multiple outcome scales. In one study the caregivers for hearing impaired individual subjects with cognitive decline reported on the impact of remote programming on a reduction of burden scale.
