Changes in brain function as it relates to hearing aid use goes by many names. Acclimatization, adaptation, adjustment, and more recently, brain plasticity have all been used to describe the effects of amplification on the auditory system. Here to describe the effects of neuro-plasticity stemming from both hearing loss and hearing aid use are Dr. Limor Lavie and Dr. Karen Banai from the University of Haifa in Israel.
