I appreciated that the instructor is advocating for allowing the patient's perception to heavily influence the fitting strategy, as opposed to telling the patient what they need to accept. We need more of this in our field.

You can hear the passion from the speaker and what it is she is trying to convey. I’m glad that there are still audiologists out there who take into consideration what the patient is telling them and don’t rely solely on what the tests say.

It seems like there is not a lot of content for asymmetric or BiCROS fitting CEUs. I have had more patients than previously who have an asymmetric loss and I feel like unilateral fittings for bilateral hearing loss are rather "taboo" so this was very beneficial for me.

The fitting suggestion question for reverse slope hearing loss does not make sense when taking into account the answer that is specified as being correct. Reverse slope only refers to a predominantly low frequency hearing loss. The answer assumes that there is also significant high frequency loss which is not always the case for complex losses. An open dome will likely result in poorer balance/quality of sound. Upward spread of masking is not guaranteed.
