Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) 101 will describe the complex system of care that has evolved over the last 22-plus years. This presentation will include an overview as well as new, emerging initiatives and how you can collaborate with your state of territory program.

Parents of children with hearing loss may struggle to understand the implications of early hearing loss, the importance of intervention, and how to navigate complex healthcare systems after diagnosis. This course focuses on referral, candidacy, and the evaluation process for cochlear implantation (CI) in children with single-sided deafness (SSD). Expected outcomes and factors that could influence performance in this population are discussed.
