Presented by Brian J. Fligor, ScD, Lori Zitelli, AuD, M. Charles Liberman, PhD
Recorded Webinar
Course: #29765Level: Intermediate3 Hours
This three-part series features leading experts discussing the following topics: World Health Organization’s Make Listening Safe initiative; tinnitus and suicide; and cochlear synaptopathy, sometimes called “hidden hearing loss”. This course was designed to inform audiologists and hearing care professionals on new initiatives and research in these areas that may impact clinical practices and patient care.

Decision Making in Children’s Speech-In-Noise Perception, in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh
AudiologyOnline CEU courses
Presented by Ashley Parker, PhD
Live WebinarWed, May 14, 2025 at 12:00 pm EDT
Course: #40404Level: Advanced1 Hour
Children process speech in noisy environments less efficiently than adults, yet the underlying cognitive mechanisms driving these differences remain unclear. This study examines how age, noise level, and phonological awareness influence children's speech sound categorization in noise.

Hearing Aids in Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) Environments, in partnership with AVAA
AudiologyOnline CEU courses
Presented by Kimberly Jenkins, AuD
Recorded Webinar
Course: #40402Level: Intermediate1 Hour
With recent advancements in technology, patients may experience issues bringing hearing aids into workspaces with security measures in place. Collaboration with the intelligence community and industry has resulted in solutions for this patient population, and the solution as well as ongoing issues are discussed.

Course: #40515Level: Introductory1 Hour
This course reviews the basics of the neurodiversity movement, presents some of the current supporting research, examines common communication differences between neurotypical and neurodiverse communicators, and discusses how neurodiverse and D/hh identities may intersect to impact communication in a hearing healthcare environment.

Precision Audiology: Advanced Diagnostics to Individualize Treatment for Sensorineural Hearing Loss, in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh
AudiologyOnline CEU courses
Presented by Samantha Hauser, AuD
Live WebinarWed, May 28, 2025 at 12:00 pm EDT
Course: #40405Level: Advanced1 Hour
The audiogram is the cornerstone of audiological assessment, but individuals with similar hearing thresholds vary in their ability to understand speech in noisy places and can have differing treatment outcomes. This course explores how the concepts of precision medicine can be applied to audiology to better understand this variability, and how new approaches to physiological assessments can improve clinical diagnosis and management of hearing loss.

eAudiology: Maximum Conductive Hearing Loss - Revisited
American Academy of Audiology CEU courses
Presented by Cindy Collier, AuD
Recorded Webinar
Course: #40594Level: Introductory1 Hour
This course discusses maximum conductive hearing loss and the prevalence of assertion. Case studies will be reviewed.

Navigating the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) System, in partnership with American Cochlear Implant Alliance
AudiologyOnline CEU courses
Presented by Linda Hazard, EdD, MS, Donna L. Sorkin, MA
Recorded Webinar
Course: #40410Level: Intermediate2 Hours
This two-part series will provide important background and guidance for Speech Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Educators and others who serve children whose hearing loss was early identified to help professionals support families to access the services and support that they need for their child. The program will be of interest to both those with little knowledge of the EHDI system and those with more extensive background as we address both programmatic elements and the barriers that may prevent a child from receiving services in a timely manner.

Barriers to Enrolling Children with Hearing Loss in Early Intervention, in partnership with American Cochlear Implant Alliance
AudiologyOnline CEU courses
Presented by Donna L. Sorkin, MA
Recorded Webinar
Course: #40302Level: Intermediate1 Hour
Passage of Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) has led to dramatic increases in newborn hearing screening, but early intervention of identified children still falls short, with up to 30% of identified children not receiving definitive hearing testing or intervention after initial screening—a phenomenon known as “lost to follow-up.” This presentation reviews the specific barriers associated with the failure of children to receive timely services, including inequities posed by Medicaid, complex enrollment processes, and lack of understanding by many parents and PCPs of the importance of timely follow-up.

Early Hearing Detection and Intervention 101, in partnership with American Cochlear Implant Alliance
