Per the title and description, I would not have guessed most of the audiology discussion would revolve around cochlear implants and programming, specifically. Not a very well-rounded course.Presentation and slides seemed very disorganized.

Was at times hard to follow as the instructor constantly stopped and said "um". I also found it difficult to determine the answers to a couple of the quiz questions while reviewing the video, and changed an answer based on the instructor comments of "Yes a child on the spectrum can catch up to peers"

Presentation was slow at times, and the speaker's voice modulated considerably, falling at he ends of sentences, rendering some of her comments unintelligible and difficult to listen to. Test questions were sometimes worded equivocally. One question relating to mapping could not really be answered by someone unfamiliar with the vocabulary of mapping because she didn't' word the question using the same vocabulary as she used in the talk. the more intuitive aspects of the subject seemed to get a lengthier explanation than was necessary while the more technical or less obvious aspects of the subject area received less time or discussion.

Long pauses, did not seem well organized. Overemphasis on some aspects of the questions seeming to minimize other information. Never discussed change from Pulsatile to simultaneous or I don't known enough about Mapping using another vendor. Shocked that she asked the question about the prevalence of autism and could not immediately state the answer when it was in the test and the fact that she had to be asked when she was presenting and it was in the questions.

Very poor audibility....It was very distressing. Besides this the numerous um ah um interjecttions by the Presenter made it very hard to concentrate on the material. But do not doubt for a minute the dedication of the presenter to the profession and understanding of the autistic child......Also there was some confusions with way the test questions were asked....Please also refer to my first test evaluation when I only got 70%. I do not remember it but I know it was different. However, although I called in my distress re: the poor audibility and the dropping of voice at the end of sentences and the interjections of um ah uh which were annoying, I did not report it on my first course evaluation and these factors were critical for me..

Although I work in the VA and NEVER see any pediatrics, I like keeping current on all aspects of Audiology. As a mother, I am interested in pediatric issues. So while this course was not relevant to my current job, it was informative and necessary for my continuing education.
