Question

Some practitioners use vibration combined with Canalith Repositioning (CRP) for cupulolithiasis. What is used to generate vibrations?

Answer

There is no specific product recommended for generating vibration when performing CRP. Any small massager device would be adequate. I have included a link below to amazon.com. This could be used with CRP, or when attempting to generate vibration induced nystagmus. Although there was an early study demonstrating some benefit to using vibration with CRP, and it seems logical that it might help loosen the stuck otoconia, most current studies show no benefit from using vibration.
