Sunshine Cottage is a Listening and Spoken Language school that provides audiological services to students from pre-school to fourth grade, to families in our early intervention program (0 to 3 years old), and clinical services for the diagnosis of hearing loss through our Newborn Hearing Evaluation Center. A qualified candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and have experience with pediatric audiology and be prepared to be the primary Audiologist performing any of the following tasks:
- Electrophysiological assessment for premier newborn hearing diagnostic center
- Pediatric, diagnostic behavioral audiometric assessment
- Pediatric hearing aid selection, fitting, verification and management
- Personal assistive technology system, verification, and management
- Soundfield system management
- Cochlear Implant candidacy evaluation, device selection counseling, initial stimulation, mapping, follow up assessment and management
- Counseling and teaching advocacy skills to professionals, parents, and students
- Collaboration with team members (including but not limited to Audiologists, SLPs, Teachers, Otologists, Administrators, Public School Staff, and Early Interventionists)
- In-services and public speaking for community outreach
- Research opportunities
