Why Central Oregon?
Nestled in the heart of Central Oregon, Bend is made for outdoor adventurers, craft beer enthusiasts, farm-to-table foodies, live-music lovers and museumgoers (so pretty much everyone!). Enjoying the natural world is a four-season hobby here—you can rock climb at Smith Rock State Park in spring, kayak the Deschutes River in summer, hike to Tumalo Falls in fall and snowboard to your heart’s content at Mount Bachelor in winter. Prefer a more relaxed pace? Bend’s picturesque parks are perfect for no-pressure picnics, leisurely walks and easy family outings.
Bend’s downtown is always buzzing with activity, offering an array of delicious restaurants—from casual spots like the iconic Deschutes Brewery to fine-dining options like Dear Irene—as well as engaging live performances and events at the historic Tower Theatre. In addition, the city is home to family-friendly attractions such as the High Desert Museum, where you can learn about the area’s cultural and natural heritage, and popular community events, including the Bend Film Festival, the Bend Yoga Festival and Bend Brewfest. You’ll also be glad to hear that the city boasts high-quality schools, including Summit High School, and though the cost of living is above average, the exceptional quality of life and welcoming community make Bend an ideal place to call home.
