Bright Audiology, a successful private practice of 29 years, is seeking a full-time, dedicated Audiologist to join its hearing rehabilitation team. Dr. Angela Bright Pearson, Audiologist/Speech Pathologist, began this practice to help others with hearing loss, as she was helped, when she was first fit with hearing aids as a teenager. Thus, the culture within Bright Audiology exists to thoroughly evaluate and rehabilitate patients with hearing loss, while connecting with them in a meaningful and professional way; this enables us to give back to our local area and the greater hearing-impaired community worldwide. Our services include cerumen removal/ear canal health maintenance; diagnostic hearing evaluations for school age children through geriatrics; functional communication assessments (advanced speech in noise testing and cognitive screenings); advanced hearing aid evaluations and fittings, including multiple manufacturers, extended wear options, and assistive technologies; aural rehabilitation; tinnitus evaluations and treatment (Tinnitus Retraining Therapy); auditory processing evaluations and treatments; evoked potentials, industrial testing, and cochlear implant evaluations. The majority of our staff has worked together for 15+ years, lending itself well to teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements: We are seeking an Audiologist who is like-minded, focuses on high quality diagnostics, as well as rehabilitation, has an interest in understanding entrepreneurship, and genuinely cares to learn how a business operates. Must be a self-starter, be willing to contribute to the growth of the business, and implement new programs. Must be committed to a collaborative and positive workplace culture, with a friendly, outgoing personality.
Minimal Proficiencies:
- Pure tone air and bone conduction audiometry, and speech audiometry
- Immittance testing - tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, etc.
- Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions - diagnostic and screening protocols
- Hearing Aid Electroacoustic Analysis, Directional microphone testing
- Hearing aid Fittings, using Real Ear Measurements. Must be willing to learn new technologies, and assist patients with Bluetooth pairings and assistive technology.
- Hearing aid cleanings and repairs
- Counseling and rehabilitation
- Cochlear implant evaluation and programming (not required)
- Evoked potentials (ABR neuro evaluations) Preferred, not required
In addition to the skills above, candidate should possess proficient writing skills, in order to complete medical reports in a timely manner, and assist with marketing efforts. Must be willing to develop skillsets in new clinical areas. Must be accommodating and flexible with schedule in order to meet our patients’ needs.
