Position Duties

Full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track assistant teaching/clinical professor in Audiology for academic year 2025-26. The person hired will teach the equivalent of 10 courses over a 12-month calendar year (fall, spring, summer semesters). Course load encompasses supervision in the clinical centers (80% of load) and academic course instruction (typically 20%) of load).

THE DEPARTMENT OF SPEECH-LANGUAGE-HEARING SCIENCES AT LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MARYLAND invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track assistant teaching/clinical professor for academic year 2025-26. The person hired will teach the equivalent of 10 courses over a 12-month calendar year (fall, spring, summer semesters). Course load encompasses supervision in the clinical centers (80% of load) and academic course instruction (typically 20%) of load). The position will involve training and supervising primarily first-year graduate students in audiological assessment and intervention with clients at the Loyola Clinical Centers (Belvedere Square location). The position includes working as part of an interdisciplinary assessment team, conducting community hearing screenings, and providing care to individual audiology clients. Teaching an undergraduate academic course may also be expected.

The faculty hired for this position needs to be able to work with an interdisciplinary team, instructing and supervising students on audiological knowledge and skills specific to hearing, including its impact on speech and language (ASHA Standard IV-C&D). The successful candidate will be able to guide speech-language pathology graduate students and teach them the clinical skills necessary for successful practice in their field specific to hearing. The person hired for this position will typically be expected to supervise in the clinical centers for 80% of their teaching load (2 or 3 days/week depending on the semester), with academic courses typically expected for 20% (1 per semester) of the teaching assignment. The successful candidate must also be able to hold dedicated office hours and participate in additional department service. Compensation Range: $81,250 - $85,500
