Professional Hearing Center is an Audiologist-led team of compassionate hearing and balance healthcare professionals committed and focused on improving quality of life through relationships built on trust, excellence, and expertise. Professional Hearing Center is a Division of Ascentist Healthcare. We proudly serve patients in the greater Kansas City area in a variety of office locations including Overland Park, Merriam, Lee’s Summit, Belton, Liberty, and Legends as well as several rural clinics. We offer a flexible and enriching environment in which we have the unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse population of professionals & providers in our wide range of office types (hospital, multi-specialty clinic, private practice, ENT, neuro-otology, vestibular, pediatric, rural, occupational etc.) Professional Hearing Center provides specialty services in the areas of tinnitus, osseointegrated devices, auditory processing, aural rehabilitation and vestibular services.
Responsibilities Include:
Examine patients with ear, hearing or balance and other related problems.
Assess exam results and diagnose the patient.
Determine the best course of treatment, taking the patient’s needs and concerns into consideration.
Fit and dispense hearing aids and other amplification devices.
Provide counseling for the patient and close family members on how to best listen and communicate using methods such as lip reading or technology.
Evaluate and follow up on the patient’s condition and record any developments.
Educate patients on ways to prevent hearing loss.

Ability to work with other medical professionals as needed to diagnose and treat patients

Ability to apply medical knowledge to patient cases to treat and diagnose each case
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent bedside manner to effectively counsel patients and family members on treatment plans and to foster a positive doctor-patient relationship
Good communication abilities to explain complex treatments and conditions to patients in a language they understand
Strong time management skills that allow the Audiologist to successfully manage their schedule and see patients in a timely manner
A commitment to staying up-to-date on the latest audiology-related research to provide patients with the best solutions available
Compassion to more effectively relate to patients and understand the impact that the patient’s condition is having on their life
A Doctoral Degree in Audiology (Au.D) is required. Must also have or be able to obtain an Audiology License in the states of Kansas and Missouri. Experience as an Audiologist in a private practice, physician’s office, or hospital is preferred.
Salary Information:
Salary and hourly rates range based on experience. Benefits for full-time positions include health insurance, 401K, continuing education opportunities, and paid time off.
