Audiology Assistant

Administrative Duties:

• Check hearing aid benefits
• Manage inventory
• Process hearing packages in/out
• Record keeping
• Review Audiologists’ schedules to ensure appointments are scheduled correctly and are necessary
• Work Epic audiology messages through completion as well as returning phone calls and emails
• Documentation of all necessary information in Epic and Noah

Clinical Duties:

• Basic cleaning of hearing aids, listening check, hearing aid repair
• Complete parts of hearing aid orientation to include
  • Orient patients to the parts of the hearing aid
  • Review battery care and precautions
  • Orient patient on how to place/remove hearing aids
  • Hearing screening on a pass/fail basis
• Assist patients with Bluetooth settings, answer questions and troubleshoot hearing aid issues 

General:

• Preferred knowledge of Epic and Noah 
• Must be able to work at both locations as needed 
• Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office programs 
• Must be organized, attentive to detail and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor with the ability to multitask 
• Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, techniques and medical procedures

Education:

Documentation by official transcript of the minimum education requirement of two years of college

education (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) and/or an associate's degree from an accredited

college, or completion of a technical school certification program in health care approved by the

Board or completion of an Audiology Assistant program approved by the Board.
