Ultra-fast processing (or low delay) is a new breakthrough in hearing aid processing exclusive to Widex technology. People report its exceptional sound quality but the mechanisms behind why such is the case is poorly understood. This presentation reports on the recent research conducted at the ORCA research laboratory in order to update professionals’ understanding on this feature.

Francis Kuk, Ph.D. received his PhD in Audiology from the University of Iowa in 1986. He has assumed staff and faculty positions at the University of Iowa and University of Illinois-Chicago respectively. He is currently the VP of Clinical Research at Widex. He has written and presented extensively in the area of hearing aid technology and fittings. He is the editorial consultant for various professional journals. He was on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and the current president of the American Auditory Society (AAS).
