Learning Outcomes
- After this course, participants will be able to identify five audiology tests which are part of the basic comprehensive hearing test battery and explain how to provide patients with a brief description in Spanish.
- After this course, participants will be able to list and explain how to provide patients with a brief description of different types of hearing technology in Spanish.
- After this course, participants will be able to discuss how to give test instructions to a patient in Spanish in order to complete the basic comprehensive hearing test battery.

Dr. Ullauri is a bilingual audiologist licensed in the state of Illinois, and the author of Audiology Services in Diverse Communities. She is a native Spanish speaker, born and raised in Ecuador. Dr. Ullauri studied Audiology in the U.S. and in Australia, and she has been fortunate to practice the profession in both languages: two years in the United Kingdom, twelve years in the U.S., and seven years in Ecuador. She possesses clinical Spanish language skills and knowledge of current standardized and validated test materials in Spanish. She is also a member of the National Association of Medical Spanish and has completed the Physician Oral Language Observation Matrix POLOM) Rater Training Course. Dr. Ullauri currently participates as a subject matter expert on pediatric hearing screening methods at the National Center on Health, Behavioral Health, and Safety. Dr. Ullauri is committed to excellence in Audiology and in training the next generation of Audiologists. She holds the following certifications issued by the American Board of Audiology: Cochlear Implants Specialty (CISC) and Audiology Preceptor (CH-AP).
