Telehealth is the delivery of health-related services and information via telecommunications technologies. Telepractice in hearing healthcare will be an invaluable addition to current clinical practice, when patients are faced with barriers such as long-distance travel and access to Audiologists. This presentation will include the rationale for establishing a teleaudiology program as well as identifying the equipment requirements and training critical personnel. The session will address licensure, coding and reimbursement, and HIPAA issues. Helpful tips will be presented to creating a successful telepractice in audiology. These key performance indicators are foundational for the success of a telepractice.
