Advanced hearing aid technologies including adaptive directional microphones and noise reduction are increasingly being utilized for children with hearing loss. An evidence-based approach to hearing aid selection and verification for young children will be presented.
Learning Outcomes
- Participants will be able to apply evidence-based techniques for the evaluation of advanced hearing aid technologies for pediatric patients in their clinical practice.
- Participants will identify the differences between the listening needs of adults and those of children and use those needs as the framework for making decisions about the application of advanced hearing aid technology for their patients.
- Participants will use a combination of behavioral and real ear approaches to validate their hearing aid fittings for pediatric patients.
