Audiologic counseling for adult patients includes an understanding and effective use of patient-centered care (PCC) and family-centered care (FCC). This course will review evidence-based principles of PCC and FCC, and apply them to audiologic practices.
Please note: You may earn ABA Tier 1 credits for this course if you complete it as part of "Counseling Across a Lifespan, presented in partnership with Salus University." Course 33610 contains recordings of both events from our 2019 series on Counseling. ABA Tier 1 CEUs can be earned only when all modules are completed as part of course 33610.

PhD
Kris English, PhD is a Professor Emeritus of Audiology at the University of Akron. She has authored several books and chapters, and has presented over 400 workshops and papers in North America, the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, primarily on the topic of audiologic counseling. Her service to the profession includes 10 years on the board of the Educational Audiology Association (President, 1997) and 5 years as a board member for the American Academy of Audiology (President, 2009–2010). She created and writes for a web forum called AdvancingAudCounseling.com and welcomes submissions from students, faculty and practitioners.
