Starkey CROS, BiCROS and AmpCROS Solutions
Patients with single-sided deafness (SSD) who are unable to benefit from amplification in one ear as the result of a severe/profound hearing loss, a reduced dynamic range, and/or the presence of distortion with the use of amplification face unique auditory challenges. The impairment of spatial hearing abilities due to the loss of binaural hearing cues can lead to difficulty localizing sound and a reduced ability to understand speech in noise. Individuals may even experience social isolation or anxiety. This course will explain the impact of SSD and the Starkey CROS, BiCROS, and AmpCROS solutions that are available.
