By investigating case studies, this course will provide audiologists with different ways to think about complex pediatric audiology patients. It will look at various performance measures and discuss how to use clinical information to plan, implement, and validate treatment.

This 2-part course is designed to offer practical tips and increase comfort in applying vestibular principles in the general audiology population. This course will review the principles of Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy, and equip the Audiologist to immediately guide her or his dizzy patient on the path to recovery.

Bone conduction audiometry is a standard test performed in an audiologic evaluation. Bone scores help indicate the site of lesion and type of hearing loss that may be present; however, there are times when unexplainable air/bone gaps or bone thresholds poorer than air thresholds are obtained. This webinar will address some of the oddities of bone conduction audiometry and clear up some of the frustration felt by clinicians when strange results are obtained.

This course will summarize current research efforts focusing on gene manipulation, gene therapy and stem cell transplantation for repairing or replacing damaged mammalian cochlear hair cells. The presentation will emphasize how these approaches might be used therapeutically. Finally, the presentation will review how this research applies to clinical audiology and what role the audiologist will play in future biochemical and pharmacological approaches to hearing restoration.
