Question
What is the most efficient way to measure reflex thresholds?
Answer
The most efficient way to measure reflex thresholds on the GSI TympStar Pro is through an auto sequence. An auto sequence is something that is set up and defined in the configuration application. An auto sequence always starts with a tympanogram and then moves immediately into the reflex screen and goes through the ipsilateral and contralateral reflexes that were defined. The second most efficient way to do a reflex threshold is through threshold seek. This is when you maybe don't know all the reflex stimuli that you would like to use and so you would determine the start and stop decibel level of your reflexes and then perform the automatic threshold seek per frequency. The difference between threshold seek and auto sequence is that you must press the start button for each stimulus frequency, but threshold seek is still very efficient. At the end of all these auto sequences or threshold seeks, you can go into the zoom function and interpret the results that were automatically picked by the TympStar Pro to make sure that they're accurate.
