What innovations are available from Phonak this spring?

With Phonak’s Lumity platform launch, we’ve focused on speech understanding in various settings that we commonly find ourselves in!
Through that lens, we introduced SmartSpeech Technology, a collection of features that show measured improvement in speech intelligibility and/or reduction in listening effort. One of the challenging situations identified by those with hearing loss is when someone has a soft voice or is talking from another room (and let’s face it: We’ve all talked to someone from another room, despite being HCPs and knowing it probably isn’t the best communication strategy).
How is Lumity different?
Lumity shines with soft speech because of Speech Enhancer!
Along with the positive benefits previously published for adults with mild-to-severe hearing loss and children with mild-to-severe loss, we now have new evidence for patients with severe-to-profound hearing loss.
- These studies indicated an improvement in speech understanding and a reduction of listening effort with soft speech coming from afar or from an adjacent room.
- This evidence comes right in time for us to release even more form factors within the Lumity portfolio.

Exciting! What new products are now available?
This spring, we’re pleased to share the availability of products that you, HCPs, have asked for:
- An Audéo-312,
- A Sky-M and SP, and
- A Naída SP
All to meet the needs of patients that would like a disposable, zinc-air battery!
The Sky Lumity M offers your patients a small BTE with a 312 battery while the SP models of both Sky and Naída have a size-13 battery. Our Audéo Lumity-312 can be ordered with either SDS 4.0 with a CeruShield or SDS 5.0 with a CeruStop so maintenance doesn’t slow your patient down.
All Phonak hearing instruments are put through a gauntlet of 128 mechanical, environmental, and longevity tests so you can be confident these solutions will stay in your patients’ ears and not in a repair box.
New Packaging
After testing a new packaging pilot to reduce waste, we are happy to ship new Audéo L-RT devices with this positively praised packaging.
Improved DataLogging and eSolutions
To make counseling and record-keeping easier for our HCPs, Target 9.1 can now show the DataLogging of the last five Target sessions. DataLogging has a new view, and these improvements will allow you to more-easily review the data, counsel, make recommendations, and make programming adjustments.
Other eSolutions, such as the highly rated myPhonak app and myPhonak Junior app are also updated this spring. Along with recent updates, such as the “Stay connected” feature in the myPhonak app, new products will be compatible. For myPhonak Junior app users, the look of the app can be customized to meet the aesthetic needs of children, teens, young adults and adults.
