Question
Why does the SeboTek PAC deep canal fitting require less gain and yield less distortion than other hearing aids?
Answer
Placing the speaker (receiver) closer to the tympanic membrane yields distinct advantages. Because the receiver and sound outlet are placed deep in the canal, patients need less power than with a traditional hearing aid style. Deep placement also results in less high frequency energy being "bled off," producing less distortion. When less gain is needed, less distortion occurs and more high frequency energy can be delivered, resulting in better clarity and speech discrimination.
