Question
Are any hearing aids available on the market today with integrated Bluetooth?
Answer
While no hearing aids available today actually have a Bluetooth receiver integrated into the hearing aid, there are many great options for hearing aid wearers to stream audio from Bluetooth sources such as cell phones, lap tops, gaming systems, etc. to their hearing aids. Instead of Bluetooth in the hearing aid, these systems use a Bluetooth remote transceiver, which then sends a near-field inductive signal to a small receiver in the hearing aids.
At Hansaton, several of our top-end hearing systems, coupled with our Media remote, enable wearers to connect to their mobile phone, for example. Using the Media transmitter, they can connect to television, MP3 systems, stereos, and virtually any Bluetooth enabled device. The Media remote control is available with Hansaton's Auriga, Velvet, Espria technologies, including the award-winning X-Mini Receiver-in-Canal (RIC) design, and the new AQ Custom Rechargeable Hearing Systems.
