Question
How is the GSI Pello different than the GSI AudioStar Pro?
Answer
The AudioStar Pro is a 2-channel clinical audiometer that includes air, bone, and speech audiometry as well as more advanced clinical tests such as the ultra-high frequencies, QuickSIN, and the TEN tests. The AudioStar Pro allows for complete flexibility for routing test signals which is critical when performing pediatric evaluations or during CAPD testing. In addition, there are hardware features such as a built-in amplifier for sound field testing and an auxiliary intercom for communicating with a second tester during pediatric testing. The GSI Pello, on the other hand, is a smaller more economical audiometer. It has one and a half channels with test signals in channel 1 and masking noise in channel 2. For more advanced testing, the Pello may be customized with different licenses that activate test features for an additional cost. For example, the Special Test license adds a TEN test, tone decay, and remote keyboard shortcuts. The Speech Plus license adds the QuickSIN, BKB-SIN, and AzBio.
