Question
How do GSI OAE devices handle background noise?
Answer
The GSI Corti has a unique way of handling the background noise or the ambient room noise or even the patient noise. It is a patented algorithm that is looking for, in this ambient noise, moments of silence. OAE devices will often look at the ambient noise level of a room and if it is too high, it does not perform the test. The Corti is different because it is looking at the variable background noise for moments of silence and it will do those recordings in those moments of silence, so you can test in background noise of up to 55 to 60 dB.
