Widex’s most advanced fitting calculation yet, TruAcoustics™ empowers hearing care professionals to give their patients more personalized and natural sound.
TruAcoustics was developed in response to the growing use of instant ear-tips over the last 10 years. Compared to custom products or custom ear-tips, instant ear-tips create greater variability in the amount of direct sound entering the ear among individual users. To address this reality, Widex created a new algorithm to calculate gain and ensure the best sound possible is delivered at the eardrum for each Widex hearing aid wearer. TruAcoustics™ works by integrating the in-situ acoustics of the individual user’s ear canal into the hearing aid’s parameter settings.
Utilizing consented cloud data, we analyzed the fit to target properties from more than 8,500 individual fittings. A key measure of the success of MOMENT is the fit-to-target properties and our calculation of gain to accommodate IGSoft, IGNormal and IGLoud in the residual hearing range of the user.
Leveraging cloud data inspired us to make TruAcoustics even better through a recalculation of the gain and rebalancing of the gain limits. This evolution led to enhanced Widex sound characteristics in a broader range of fittings and demonstrates our dedication to delivering natural sound.
The result is an optimization of all processes and gain settings for all initial fittings – for inexperienced and experienced users – with a target of the most natural and pure sound possible.
