Presenter: Esther Clervaud EdS

Esther Clervaud, EdS, is an author and educational consultant in South Carolina. She has taught in both primary and secondary education in Florida and South Carolina. As a former educator, she created and implemented several events to increase cultural awareness, self-esteem, student learning, and engagementAs a result, community support improved and student achievement flourished.

In addition to being trained through Cornell University's Diversity and Inclusion program, Esther has gained experience through working with diverse populations and data-driven research. She currently uses her knowledge to facilitate professional development around the nation educating professionals in various fields and expertise. Esther has published over 15 cultural resources - including, but not limited to, books and curricula - and consults organizations on strategies for increasing cultural awareness and sensitivity in their workplace. Her printed resources are presently utilized in several organizations and school districts across the nation.

 

Presenter: Erika Gagnon AuD

Dr. Gagnon is a pediatric cochlear implant audiologist at the Children’s Cochlear Implant Center at UNC. She received her undergraduate and doctoral degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She joined the Children’s Cochlear Implant Center at UNC in 2014. Her clinical interests included datalogging, pediatric EAS and expanded cochlear implant indications.

Presenter: Beth Haley AuD, CCC-A

Elizabeth Haley, Au,D., CCC-A, is a clinical and research audiologist. Currently, she holds a joint position as a clinical audiologist at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and as a research coordinator in the Pittsburgh’s Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital.

After completing her clinical doctorate in audiology at the University of Pittsburgh, Elizabeth returned to pursue a Ph.D. in audiology. Her research interests include: pediatric speech and music perception, neurobiological correlates of language development in children, central auditory processing disorder, language learning in children with hearing loss and knowledge transfer in perceptual learning.
